This advertisement from the  Limerick Chronicle (29 Dec 1887) announces the opening of the Turkish baths , together with plunge baths, slipper baths and a variety of douches. Turkish baths cost 2/- or 1/- according to the time of day. Slipper baths and showers were available for women, but Turkish baths for women weren't added till 1889.

The #IrishCitizenArmy was formed on #ThisDayInHistory in 1913 by #union leader #JamesConnolly. Originally led by Jack White and facing off against #police, Connolly later took charge and moved it towards nationalist goals, with #ICA participating in the #EasterRising in 1916.
