Three nursery pots. The lower one has grass-like spring beauty leaves in it, and the upper two have what are maybe? Hopefully? Black cohosh.
A baby plant with a first true leaf that appears plausibly like black cohosh.

I think a couple of my double dormancy plants actually germinated ๐ฏ

A black chokeberry branch with several white flowers, mostly still closed. They are catching the light, especially a half-open one that looks like a little bowl. Some yellow Packera aurea is blooming in the blurry background.

A Phacelia purshii plant (Miami mist) in a bedraggled clear plastic container.
"Miami mist" barely legible in black sharpie on blue painter's tape, spattered with dirt.
Sometimes am uncommon violet species grows in a pavement crack and a cute annual finally sprouts over a year after you planted it. That's life, if one looks for it.

Fuzzy serviceberry buds.
Zizia aurea/golden alexanders, with one umbel visible, flowers unopened.
Packera aurea buds, deep purple, with maybe a pinprick of lighter color visible at their apex.

A garden bed inside an aged concrete border. There's a lot going on: bare dark brown soil, lighter brown fallen leaves and old stems, the warm yellows of last year's Heuchera "Autumn Bride" leaves, the spring green of new hydrangea buds, and many deep greens with purple or red tones from scarlet bee balm, columbine, and wild geranium. Zizia aurea, Phlox stolonifera, and the deep red winter rosettes of sundrops are also in frame.

A terrible little patch of lawn weeds like hairy bittercress, speedwell, and chickweed made a bit better by cute cool-toned columbine leaves scattered throughout.
Today I learned I have just. So many little baby volunteer columbine plants in my "lawn" ๐ such as (what remains of) it is. Most are at the edge across the driveway from several mature plants... but several are on other edges or just Around.
