ECREA 2021 Conference - Media, Cities and Space panel on now: MCS05 - Platform Power and Citizen Agency in the Digital Capitalist City (chaired by @rodgers_scott) Very interesting presentations on digital media platforms and the commodification of urban space #ECREA2021

Had a blast presenting my latest paper in the Journalism and its audiences session @ECREA_eu. In the great company of fellow panelists @THanitzsch @raufercon @MJBroersma and wonderfully chaired by @annikasehl #ECREA2021

Some of these ECRs will run almost all sessions of their respective sections. While service to the profession is an important aspect of academic work, we believe the amount of labour that some ECRs are required to do the next week for #ecrea2021 is too much.

On that note, we would like to point out that a smooth digital conference experience of #ecrea2021 will rely on a large part on the dedication and free labour of graduate students and other ECRs who will act as zoom operators.

#ecrea2021 begins today for me with a #YECREA pre-conference workshop on academic health and labour that @ACuartero, @AnaniaWrites, @BanjacSandra, and I have organized in the past months.
