I’m reading a book that I bought for literally pennies in a 2nd-hand bookshop. Nobody wanted it because it was falling apart.
But reading #ElizabethJaneHoward #TheSeaChange, I feel I should’ve insisted on paying more because, as ever, her work is priceless & I, like the novel itself, am in pieces

A book review of Elizabeth Jane Howard's novel, FALLING.

A book review of Elizabeth Jane Howard's novel, FALLING.

I can always rely on EJH to pull me out of a reading slump. My new blog post on FALLING - a dark, unsettling, incredibly immersive tale of deception, loneliness, control, and the erosion of trust. Loved it!

A copy of FALLING by Elizabeth Jane Howard basking in the sun, although the book's characters aren't!

"Why did insomnia always seem to ally itself to pain and fear and grief? Why could she not lie in the dark revelling in joyful or at least pleasant bits of the past?"
