Semi abstract mixed media with predominate red swathes relating to the words of the poem. Copper wire barbed wire was fashioned and fastened, also wooden pegs with copper wire entangled in them.
Final version of “it’s like fire” using original poem with acrylic paints mixed into spackling on hard panel. Finished with other mixed media elements and a coat of Liquin to seal.

“A World Alight,” is my first piece of 2026.
I did this one after I learned I was likely to be laid off and just let emotions roll over me as I painted. I still can’t decide if it’s destructive or hopeful. All that matters is it’s mine.
