POEM TITLE: The Golden Lotus Testament

THE POEM:

1. Fear neither murk
       nor lonely mud:
       this limbo thick with listlessness.

2. Here famished shadows swallow sight.
Not us: we hunger for more light.

3. Be patience,
       braced for hours lost.
       Know growth is slowness opening.

4. Absolving ambiguity,
       bless every question burgeoning.

5. Prepare for beauty, newness skewed
       by air and flaring agony.

6. Let petals center, enter thought,
       your flowered hours,
       wilting nows,
       the seeds of hows,
       what is, may be,
       then endless stemming swelling buds
       emerging from the measureless.

7. Awaken breaking silenced night,
the tired sighs of twilight time,
       and climb above whatever dives
       beneath these pleading surfaces.

8. This is the Lotus Rising Rite,
the scripture not of tombs but blooms
      rebirthing earth, perfective death:
      ascent kinetic, venturesome,
no longer checked or kept immersed
      but surging, verging urgently
      on godly possibilities
      with little but humility.

END OF POEM.
