I've been at #epic2024 #openepic this week, which I believe to be my first international conference and certainly the first I've presented at in person outside the UK. It's been a insightful event with competing philosophies on recognition, microcredentials and educational systems.
I've created a GPT skills mapper for my #ePIC2024 workshop and would like help testing it. DM me if you'd like access and can give feedback! 😀
The idea is that it's a conversational way of surfacing skills and then mapping them against three skills taxonomies:
1. ESCO
2. O*NET
3. OECD
Two people engaging in a psychotherapy session
At #EPIC2024 J.P. Grodniewicz & Anna Drożdżowicz discuss four types of epistemic injustice that can emerge in the context of psychotherapy & address the role of diagnostic labels: whether they are harmful, & whether they can be replaced with something else. #philsky
First slide of Katherine Puddifoot's talk
The second day of #EPIC2024 started with the keynote address by Katherine Puddifoot where she discusses the case study of COPD (characterised by breathlessness but also anxiety and depression) and how affect and epistemic injustice impacts on the health outcomes for these patients. #philsky
Two figures talking, one being animated and aggressive
At #EPIC2024 Michael Larkin explores the role of relationships in young people's mental health, with healthcare professionals, family members, friends etc. He also touches on what is involved in doing research with people who have lived experience of mental health services #philsky
Talking to each other and discovering things about ourselves
Next at #EPIC2024 postdocs Jodie Russell and Kathleen Murphy-Hollies talk about how their philosophical research intersects with the project and the importance of studying epistemic injustice for better knowledge of ourselves and for better social relationships #philsky
