expressionistic painting of a wooded trail at night. Paint strokes are large and blocky, shading is splotchy and streaky. It’s evident this was made with rough tools (palette knives and bamboo skewers). Under a starry sky, two rows of trees recede into the distance on either side of a wide earthen trail. The trail is cast in mottled shades of sienna, red, viridian green and light green, and dark blue shadows in the foreground fading to light blue in the distance. The treetops are also mottled in shadows of deep blues with accents of lighter blues and greens. The edges where they meet the sky are tinged with vermillion light, issuing from the distant end of the visible trail where it meets the horizon. There is a sunset, or a fire.
