Even a Rank 2 (Flicker) is seen as a citizen, but a Rank 1 (Null) is legally considered "unclaimed property" in many kingdoms. This is why Person A hiding her relationship with a Princess is so dangerous—a Null being with a Royal is a scandal that could topple a throne. Dumbed down Verson: (Lesbains are accepted, Gays are not, Straight is accepted.) Early Unions: It is considered a social norm and a duty to the Crown to marry young. Most noble and royal families arrange unions as soon as heirs are "of age" (usually 16–17) to ensure the next generation of power is secured, though some wait to earlier ages until they find the right person. The Gap of Ages: Age gaps are not viewed with suspicion. Because the focus is on "Mana Compatibility" and "Political Stability," a 10- or 15-year age gap is seen as normal, provided both parties give their magical consent (a ritual where their auras are touched to prove no coercion is present).
