These mock shock prophets preach catastrophe: they rally raptures, false apocalypse, infernal resolutions, fiendish scenes so no one might suppose to know the truth (a renaissance is always possible) because to dream it braces quaking faith in resurrections, one plus chance to dance, romance, advance past doom's crude spookiness, enough to sense its desperate pageantry. Propose no seance, though: they're not that gone. They're mostly ghosts of what they hoped to be. Tormented? Haunted? Yes, by negligence, their willful ignorance, crash apathy, despair's uncaring flair for travesty. Warm coexistence calls for cooler moods, relief from grief, belief revival comes. To damn them's madness wooing paradox: it steels weakness, augments smallness, loss. This case inviting kind and wiser styles, let's wonder what we bless, defend, reject. What causes cure remorse? What tortures minds to spite our vibrant unity tonight? What lures pure spirit toward morbidity? As petals spread for weddings, birthdays, wakes, ask why folks leave behind their human truths to lurch unsouled as bones of horror tropes. Press spectacles to see what keeps or flees.
