A little #Oxford throwback for #FeinsterFreitag. A view of Nuffield College on a bright day. I must have 10000 photos of buildings in Oxford (at least).

Black and white photo, taken from street level, of a person exercising in the floor-to-ceiling window of an upper-floor gym in Manhattan. They walk on a treadmill at lower center-right frame while looking out at the multi-story apartment building across the street at left frame, with its stacked windows and shadowed balconies. The nearer building that holds the gym has a facade of panels outlined in black borders; the gym windows, and the windows on the level above it, have multiple rectangular glass panels that reflect yet more windows on another street. The building’s edge vertically bisects the image so that the gym building occupies the right half while the farther-off apartment building occupies the left. The entire effect is of a grid of variously sized squares and rectangles, with horizontal lines angled slightly upward toward left and right from a central vertical line.

A flower pot full of red rose like flowers sits perfectly centered within a window. The interior is perfectly black, while the window trim is a bright yellow with decorative tooling. The building is a classical mid century Spanish architecture so the walls are a white spacco. The tiled roof can be seen above with a sliver of blue sky showing.

From that one time I saw the most perfect window scene and felt obligated to capture it.

The frame is mostly negative space yet the lower right is a detail of an Arts & Crafts stain glass window with a peaked centre arch.

Yesterday I was reminded of how tiring dealing with irrational beliefs can be and today I remind myself to be without belief and to hold my opinions lightly.
