A 12” embroidery hoop with quarter next to it for scale. The hoop has a large green oak tree as the main focus of the piece, reminiscent of a tree of life art piece. The leaves are made from hammered coreopsis leaves, the grass is also made up of hammered coreopsis leaves. The tree leaves are round, the grass is made of long vertical leaves. The bark of the tree is made from Hand stitched embroidery, using a few different shades of brown to add depth to the bark. There is a black hole in the middle of the tree. The roots extend into the grass, there is also embroidery in the grass made of little lines for grass blades and French knots for little weed flowers. There are very small embroidered eastern bluebirds in the piece, one flying to the tree, and two perched within the tree. Most branches of the tree are poking out behind the green leaves, but two are below the start of the leaf line
A mini 4” pounded leaf embroidery hoop. This was the first test of the idea, so the brown branches are thicker and not as hidden within the tree. The tree leaves are made from rounded coreopsis leaves, while the grass is made of long narrow coreopsis leaves. There is a little hand stitched blue bird sitting in the tree, and 5 flowers at the base of the tree in a lighter pink and a darker pink
Another 4” mini tree enboirdery piece with hammered coreopsis leaves-same as the previous pieces with rounded leaves to make up the tree top, and long narrow leaves to make up the grass below and around the tree. This tree has the branches poking out from the leaves, as if hidden by the tree leaves. There is a red Cardinal bird perched in the tree, and yellow sunflowers in the grasses
