The brilliance of Love’s Forever Changes hides its stormy creation. Producer Neil Young quit. Replacement Bruce Botnick saw that only Arthur Lee was studio-ready so replaced the rest of the band with sessioneers. Teary pleas let the group cut the last songs.

I won't do the boring thing of 'telling you about my dream', but last night I was at a #Love concert and #ArthurLee told myself and my partner that he had written a song for us, and they performed it. It would have fitted into #ForeverChanges perfectly. A masterpiece. AND I CANNOT REMEMBER IT.
Those of us who adore #ForeverChanges, #Love and #ArthurLee ought to hear this right now. Bryan MacLean, who wrote the introductory song 'Alone Again Or' is singing it from his 1971 album 'ifyoubelevein'.
And this is something else. I think it flattens the group version.

No #mellotron but there is a #Chamberlin on it!
The moment on it when he sings 'save the babies' and the band breaks into *that swing* is one of the greatest moments in recorded music.
Jesus wept, that is a *supernaturally* good album. It's up there with #ForeverChanges and #PetSounds for me.
Decided to frame my #Love setlist that was on stage with #ArthurLee when I saw them for the 1st time at the Powerhaus in #London on 28 May 1996.
I nearly met him - stood next to him while he chatted to someone hoping to get my #ForeverChanges inlay signed. But he walked off!
