A huge vintage 1960s 70s one of a kind handmade sterling silver and glass marble modernist cocktail ring. Made from what was originally part of a sterling silver fork, this was a trend with Avantgarde jewelry makers of the period, especially Hippie jewelers, making jewelry from old stuff, recycling. Probably the most incredible such piece that I have run across in my 45+ year career! This ring rises a full inch above the finger, the glass marble is wrapped in prongs formed by two of the tines of the fork, and the other two tines curl downwards to form the ring band. So unique and one of a kind! Size 7.5 to 8 US, and weighs a super hefty 25 grams total. Unmarked, but tested and guaranteed to be solid sterling silver. No doubt originally sold at a gallery or an art fair and would have come paperwork from the artist/metalsmith that has been lost over the course of years. Excellent vintage condition.
