Frank Marino – Strange Dreams De komst van AI maakt dat er veel meer dor fans gemaakte video’s verschijnen. Met “Strange Dreams” kun je natuurlijk alle kant op, al vraag ik me af of Marino het zó vreemd bedacht had. Maar goed, het is een mooie gelegenheid om een fenomenale track van het al even fenomenale album _Juggernaut_ te beluisteren. Een album uit 1982, maar met een betere mix en productie dan de meeste hedendaagse albums. Van Marino zelf, van wie algemeen bekend is dat hij een bizarre perfectionist is. Wat heet: hij bouwde zijn eigen versterkers en pedalen. Misschien nog opvallender: hij had twee sets met gitaarpedalen op het podium, waarbij de pedalen op de ene set werden gebruikt om pedalen op het tweede pedalboard in te stellen. Opvallende nieuwtje: Marino had afscheid genomen van het optreden vanwege een schouderblessure, maar blijkt twee weken geleden toch weer op het podium gestaan te hebben! Daarnaast heeft de beheerder van de Mahogany Rush-fansite, Willy Parsons, een (soort van) biografie geschreven: _Acid Casualty? A Trip Through The Strange Universe Of Frank Marino_. Vorige maand verschenen en te krijgen bij Amazon.

Saw him 4 times in the UK. He didn't come often.. The first was at the Port vale gig in 81. He was the deciding factor on going. #FrankMarino what an awesome guitarist 🎸👍

I took some great photo's at the gig on 31/07/05 and here's one. Frank Marino is one of the greatest guitarists I've ever heard and seen 🎸 he rarely gets mentioned in lists of greats. But those who know of him know what I mean 👍

Frank Marino – Unreleased Blues Frank Marino maakte een paar jaar geleden bekend vanwege een medische aandoening niet meer te zullen touren. Dat betekende dat de _Live At The Agora Theatre_ -dvd de laatste release was. Toch kwam er nog een verrassing: een track die niet op de dvd stond en zelfs geen titel heeft.
