Becoming Other She didn't know the difference between toads and frogs though since I've learned it: it's not that toads have bumpy skin, it's the frogs' long hind legs to jump with though my dad always called them Hoppy-toads. Also, I learn all toads are frogs (but not all frogs are toads) further confusing the issue. Perhaps there's no real distinct dividing line. Some frogs, called frogs, live deep in the desert, buried, waiting for rain. Some are thought to call it with their songs. --Kyla Houbolt, 11/17/2024
