While working through our film reel collection we found this copy of “Donald’s Fire Survival Plan”, a mid-1960s Disney cartoon teaching children important home fire safety advice.

Used in schools and fire safety sessions into the late 1970s.

In 1942 the troop ship "Queen Mary" sailed unescorted from Brazil to North Africa. Codebreaker Elizebeth Smith Friedman broke messages sent by Nazi spies in Brazil to U-boats, and the ship, carrying more than 8,000 soldiers and sailors, arrived safely.
