So I was out walking Cini today, when I saw these really cool building. And I learned it was part of the Minnesota Star Tribune which I have been interested in as potential employer. People seem to respond to my photos and I love local papers. To be fair, Porcini was completely zipped up inside my jacket, his paw hurt from the salt, so I was carrying him. So since Cini wasn't walking I thought I would just pop in to see the building.

It started off great. I got a really cool picture of this chandelier, a word I apparently spelled correctly on the first try. Also, I need everyone to know I have never made any money off my photos. I just do this because I love taking them and sharing them. I mean I would love to get paid, but that isn't the point. It is more of a compulsion than freewill.

So while snapping just a couple pictures, I turned around and there was a person there. They asked why I was taking pictures. I simply said, "Oh, Im just an artist." To which they replied I needed to ask permission to take photos. I said ok, and switched off my camera (mind you I have not always been this complacent or nice, but it is Friday and I was in a good mood). They then just stood there and starred at me. I told them it was off, and then the proceeded to get additional security. It was at this point I became less friendly. I turned my camera back on and started taking more photos. I asked if they stopped everyone with a cell phone who snapped a photo or if it was just me because I carry a camera. I then yelled about how dumb of a rule it was that people could not take pictures inside, and proceeded to leave.

So before you all jump down my throat about it being private property, I call bullshit on that too. These buildings get passed around like fucking candy to these rich pricks. They had no hand in building them anymore than I did, they just have the current luck to have been afforded money in this life, and they get to own them. So these buildings they own then sit there, and apparently their architecture, which was built by the working class not rich pricks, cannot be viewed by anyone else or at least not captured. These rich assholes then hire minority security guards who are probably far more dependent on that job than their white peers and will enforce their ludicrous rules without question. However, in our current state of the world, we should all be questioning orders given. This person probably saw me on a security camera, and marched down with their coffee and walky-talky to tell me to stop doing something hundreds of people do a day on their cell phones. Ask yourselves is it worth enforcing this rule. Some rules/laws are just fucking dumb and most are fucking harmful. Remember the Nazis were just following orders too. And for the rest of you, don't obey rules that make no sense. The rich are already hoarding the wealth, they don't get to hoard views too. Don't be a bootlicker for the rich, they absolutely hate you.
