This is the second week of fast-forwarding through #gardenersworld Because it is so tedious and boring. This week thank goodness for Advolly.

Gardeners World 2026 episode 6 - LeafCast Gardeners World 2026 episode 6 presents a landmark broadcast in which Monty Don steps away from Longmeadow to offer an exclusive preview of the Queen Elizabeth II Garden, a two-acre commemorative spac...

A garden built on the bones of a disused nursery, using crushed concrete as soil. Monty Don's exclusive preview of the Queen Elizabeth II Garden in Regent's Park is genuinely extraordinary — slow gardening at its most ambitious.

The American lass lecturing Carol Klein about cuttings. Hell's teeth. I'm off to teach Garry Kasparov about Fool's Mate. #GardenersWorld

Sorry if I missed any #GardenersWorld posts this evening... hopefully by next week #BlueSky search will be a bit more stable.

It will be interesting to see how all that crushed concrete fares, mixed with only a small amount of sticky yellow clay...I know all too well about that!! #gardenersworld

Discutafel podcast 207: William Turner and his garden (part 1) Ivonne explores the Wiliam Turner Garden in Morpeth, UK. Turner (c.1508-1568) revolutionized botany. In this episode: the physic garden.

For viewers of #GardenersWorld and all other gardeners: you may be interested in some plant history, too. May I mention my most recent podcast?

So am I right in assuming that, once established, the plants in this new Royal garden aren't going to be watered and will be left to fend for themselves in summer heat? #GardenersWorld

Those magnolias were heaven...especially the really dark one at the end. #gardenersworld

I'd much rather have rulers and leaders who hug trees or talk/sing to their plants than ones that start wars and act like spoilt toddlers. #GardenersWorld

I know I'm getting old... but people do love Long Meadow as the heart of the show. GW is not just a horticultural programme, it's a feel good 'take me to the host's garden paradise at the end of the week' experience. When you strip that out, it loses character.

Tell me, who sings to their plants?
I don't. I talk endlessly to them.
Most seem happy.
I didn't organise a test, though, comparing talking to some and being silent to others.

And I thought the 360 pelargonium plug plants that we had delivered last week and pricked out/potted on was a large number. Nothing compared to what these Royal Parks folk get up to. #GardenersWorld

I never thought I’d find joy in watching #GardenersWorld but it’s the perfect antidote to everything atm ❤️

Slight greenhouse envy. 😳 #GardenersWorld

Going to be interesting to see what this purposely poor, stony soil does with increased chances of extreme weather such as heatwaves and heavy rains thanks to #ClimateChange. One big experiment, and hopefully #GardenersWorld will tell us about successes and failures that result.

This new QEII garden looks really good. I'm sure some folk won't agree but maybe arguing about matrix planting and prairie plants instead of everything else, will do us good. I do think gardens are one of the few cohesive things we have in common. #gardenersworld

Re #GardenersWorld 17/4/2026, a plant that, as Monty told us, evolved in its native New Zealand/Aotearoa should NOT be grown in London's new QE2 Garden; & (even if she happened to be competent) we should be ending NOT championing #monarchism; more here walkaboutsverse.blogspot.com

I must remember "it isn't where the budget ran out, it's hedgehog habitat". Could be handy to have on the #gardening excuse chart. 😉🤣 #GardenersWorld

When I was in RHS Wisley, a couple of years ago, I immediately recognised Matthew Pottage's voice as he walked by, behind my back. He's a regular member of the Gardeners' Question Time expert team.

Oh, it's a special #GardenersWorld on a new Queen Elizabeth memorial garden anyway, so I guess there won't be that many comments anyway.

Planted a David Austin rose today...Scarborough Fair, a pale blush with a boss of golden stamens, so I can't wait to see the first bloom! #gardenersworld

Hmm, just went to set up my usual Friday evening #GardenersWorld hashtag search ready to play along with the other viewers on #Bluesky, but it appears there's still issues with search on the web UI:

"We’re sorry, but your search could not be completed. Please try again in a few minutes."
