Quick little library read! Unfortunately, My Lady Ludlow is not Gaskell’s finest work. A few solid moments and a couple of quotes that might sneak into the introduction of my thesis, but overall the characters just weren’t very interesting.

First completed book of 2025. I read this for a book club then didn't even finish it in time. 🫠 Really enjoyed the domestic slice of life view into this community of mostly women in the small town of Cranford. Gender issues and social niceties take center stage.
