Quartz crystals as only remnants of the rock matrix

Today #geology from my #hedgewatch on the #Seychelles. There most #rocks belong to the #granite's & exist of #quartz, #feldspar (FSP), & #mica. Granites aren't happy in warm & humid #climate's because the FSP weathers very fast away while the quartz stays longer.
