Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Saw this since a friend was in town! This film has beautifully done action cheoregraphy and environment set dressing but the actual story isn't anything to ride home about.

Escape the Dark Castle
This was a game I'd seen art of before since some of the art designers visited my university! This was great fun, tough as nails with a really gnarly aesthetic.
Once you understand the rules, this is basically like a small little RNG rogue-lite experience!

Secret Hitler
It's very fun to point fingers and accuse your friends of being fascist. The ways you can deliberately screw with people or mess with them is really fun.

Barbecubes
Had a board game night last night and got to try a bunch of fun games! This one was a really simple and fun game which gets increasingly more tense as the grill gets more full.
Very jenga-like.

Minecraft (Base Game)
One of those games I'll keep coming back to every now and again. Surprised at all of the funky stuff the updated terrain brings.
Hoping to add updates as I expand my world more.

Ninjago Dragons Rising Season 4 (Part 1)
Had a lot of fun with this season! The Lloyd stuff especially was a treat!

Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Games Part 1
An adaptation that clearly ADORES its source material. It uses the medium to its fullest potential, with so much creative camera work and visual direction to make you laugh and feel in awe at every way they explore JJK's world and storytelling.

Kinato's Magic
Probably dropping this soon since it's struggling to make an impact on me.
Between the "joke" of a character's sexuality changing and this struggle to pace its arcs properly I just think I've checked out from the story.

Aladdin
The first of several classic animated films I'm aiming to check out over the next week or so!
The Genie is possibly the most animated character I've ever seen, he's a showcase of the medium working at its most insane.

Chainsaw Man Part 2
A slow burn which didn't entirely work for me. The ending was better than I expected but it jumped into it way too suddenly. A reread is definitely in order since as much as I had fun, I want to see what the broader themes feel like on reread

Chainsaw Man's final chapter dropped, so here's my reaction to reading it!

Arco
Probably won't stay as a 5 stars but its an incredibly strong film experientially. Touches upon a lot of Ghibli's philosophies and approach to animation, rather than just using the aesthetics of one of those films.

The Amazing Digital Circus Episode 8
Holy Shit. Took some massively bold swings and it will stick in my brain for a WHILE.
The bombastic explosion after a timebomb that has been ticking down since episode 1.

NEW VIDEO!!
Was wanting to get this out earlier but I'm glad I managed to put this theory out there before Episode 8 released!!

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
Does a fantastic amount with a remarkably short runtime. Whole lot of fun with some really great worldbuilding and questions pertinent to the modern day world.
Also the art was absolutely beautiful.

One Piece Live Action Season 2
Has some changes i like, others I find weird - but as a whole I found this fun and campy in a way that I didn't really get with Season 1.
Usopp especially benefitted from this season!

LS Lowry: The Unheard Tapes
Fascinating deep dive into an artist I've not seen before. The acting in the tape recreation section was incredibly good.

GOAT
I don't think I ever got used to them using GOAT as an acronym

The Tale of Johnny Town Mouse (Beatrix Potter)
Lovely little illustrations throughout this. The town/country mouse analogy in Chainsaw Man was on my mind as I read this haha.

Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
This film is a modern classic to me. Does everything right. So damn good.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Really really good read. Tolkien got to flex his character writing skills to an incredible degree here. A lot of focus on parallel stories and journeys.
Hoping to write/record a proper review for this.

Avatar: Fire and Ash
James Cameron needs to write shorter movies, too much bloat. Very visually pretty and fun to see with my mum

Beautttiful art. I love it when childrens books explore wonderlust and the idea of flying and exploring a new world.

Squirrel Island
Been meaning to see Astrid Goldsmith's filmography for ages since she visited my university a few years back. This short film feels rather cruel but in an inspiring way? Idk how to put it, check it out for free on the mockduck website
