A common blue mud dauber, a type of wasp, atop a fence railing. The was is facing right. It is a metallic blue color. The head appears to be black, with long black antennae sticking out and down. The legs are also long and appear to have the metallic blue on them as well.

A Roesel's katydid stretched out between two leaves. Its long back legs are in an upside-down V position with the ends on a leaf at the far left. They are orange with a black spot toward the body. The body is mostly brown, with a white curved line on the thorax. The head is long and orange with a dark black eye. It has two black antennae which are much longer than its squat body. The front legs are resting on a leaf at the right.
