Test 1,2,3 In all my excitement of starting this new venture with a bang, I overdid it a bit in buying glazes. Those gorgeous colours just called to me.. you know... as they do. So I had 12... and not wantin...

A little throwback to my first steps in ceramics. This was just the first batch.. I've now over 300 of them, good and bad combinations. Nowadays I just test on broken sharts of clay and take notes of the good ones only :)

Long time no post, I have a few glaze projects spinning but here’s some winners from the last phase of testing for the blue/purple iridescent crystalline glazes. Pushing further into the purple range and even into some peachy pink/coppery tones

Both sides came out great. I think the crystals are a little too dense, but still pretty

The crystals grew on the bottom where I only had 2 coats.

These were a surprise because they were the mixed up leftovers of the glaze tests from the other bottles. Happy accident.

this is a little mug I took out of the kiln yesterday, I am getting close with the teal glaze, just need a bit more blue in it. I actually have 3 teal glazes like this, but all 3 react differently when layered with another glaze.

I make this shape on purpose. Quick on the wheel. Usually have a solid bottom (enclosed form) for glaze details. Coat count on the side. Shape allows multiple permutations of coats/combos. Also they make me giggle
