Esta vidriera de Herman Breckerveld en Museum Catharijneconvent, fechada en 1647, copia un detalle de una estampa de la Colección Mariano Moret con el Entierro de Cristo, grabada por el gran Hendrik #Goltzius en 1596.
Hendrik #Goltzius (Brüggen, 1558 - Haarlem, 1617) está considerado el mejor grabador neerlandés del Manierismo nórdico y es también uno de los artistas fundamentales en la Colección Mariano Moret, que cuenta entre sus fondos con 19 obras suyas.

When only one year old, Hendrik #Goltzius permanently damaged his right hand by fire.
It’s speculated that the stiffness of his fingers had the side effect of strengthening his arm and shoulder, so he etched with his right hand and drew with his left.

...La composición y la ubicación de las figuras en el espacio son muy similares en ambas obras. Dado el prestigio y la amplia difusión que tuvieron las estampas de #Goltzius, no es descabellado pensar que el autor del dibujo del @museodelprado.es tuviera el grabado del holandés como referencia.
...pudo inspirarse en una estampa grabada por Hendrik #Goltzius en 1597 que representa el mismo episodio de la Pasión de Cristo, de la que conservo un ejemplar en mi colección...SIGUE ⤵️

The latest addition to my collection! A French edition of Icones Imperatorum Romanorum, printed in #Antwerp in 1559 by Gillis Coppens van Diest (I). Hubert #Goltzius designed the #chiaroscuro portraits.
Goltzius tried to extract the portraits from ancient coins.
