On this day in 1703 the #RoyalNavy lost thirteen ships in the Great Storm off the #Kent coast. HMS Stirling Castle and HMS Northumberland were among those lost with around 1500 sailors killed #shipwrecks #navy #storm #goodwinsands #divingsites #history #historical #26NovemberJulianCalendar
The Stirling Castle, the Restoration, the Northumberland and the Mary were lost on the #GoodwinSands in that storm. Three of them are now #ProtectedWrecks:
