The next episode of the #GR5 is starting in Testelt, to do the second route variant between Testelt and Zichem. I will have to redo about a km of today’s route for that, but that isn’t a punishment!

Oh, I thought the route of the #GR5 between Kalmthout and Westmalle would change, but the route between Westmalle and Herentals is also going to change. Don't know if that was really needed 🤔

(Probably will have to hike it as well, because I then can colour a couple of new municipalities on my map)

After a break of a couple months, it was finally time to continue with the #GR5 today. I hiked 22,5 km from Herentals to Westerlo. With every kilometer, the route became more beautiful 😍 the route passed along the Tongerlo Abbey, and I ended on the embankment of the Grote Nete river.

Today I did another section of the #GR5, just over 20 km from Noorderkempen station in Brecht to Zandhoven. Some nice sections, especially the first half after leaving Brecht. I hope to do one more episode next week to get to Herentals, then it’s done for this year.

This morning I completed the #GR5 hike from last week, going from Huijbergen to Kijkuit via Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, a very enjoyable peat park. A lovely 10,9 km to start the week.

Ik heb vorige week een van de Alpen-etappes van de #GR5 gelopen, in zeven dagen van Les Houches (Chamonix) naar Modane. Prachtig en afwisselend. Wel een paar keer onderweg Fransen moeten overtuigen dat de start in Hoek van Holland ligt, niet bij het lac Léman.

It was a little bit quiet on the #GR5 side of things, but I managed to do 18 km of it this week, starting in Oostvoorne along the coast. I then crossed the Haringvlietdam, and ended near the fish auction of Stellendam.

Na een onverwacht heftig verdict en een paar zware maanden vertrekt mijn man morgenochtend op zijn eentje met tent en rugzak naar Hoek van Holland om vandaar uit de #GR5 te wandelen. Eerste doel Bergen op Zoom. Maar een eerdere stop is ook ok. Goed bezig zeg ik. Zelfs als het (nog) niet zou lukken
