#RPGaDAY2025 Day 2: Prompt.

One of the tools in the #Grimwild rules is the GM Crucible. Roll 2 results, smash them together, and interpret. This is probably the first time I'm seeing an oracle style tool outside of a solo RPG. I like how the prompts are used to drive narrative forward.

I'm absolutely in love with #Grimwild 's magic system. Instead of being hard coded spells with slots in the vancian style (ie DnD and PF2e), it's way more freeform, you have a couple words composing the spell, and you go from there to adapt it to the situation and strength you want from it.

So I'm still not 100% convinced how much I enjoy running Forged in the Dark as a GM, but I've had two different one shots for two different groups foster fail into campaigns in the last few months, so that certainly says something about how they are as a player!

#grimwild El juego completo a 4$, una ganga. Y si te parece mucho, pégale un ojo a la versión gratis, juego prácticamente completo. Hoy salía el backerkit para la edición física, pero aunque el envío lo hace mas prohibitivo, tiene cosas interesantes.

¿Cómo es el sistema de #Grimwild?

Cada PJ tiene 4 atributos que son: Músculo, Agilidad, Ingenio y Presencia. Cada uno varía entre 1 a 3 que será la cantidad de dados de 6 caras que podrá usar en sus acciones.

1 - 3: Nefasto, 4-5: Complicado y 6: Perfecto.

Se toma el dado más alto.

Watched a couple of review vids on #GrimWild this weekend. Very interesting mix of features and gameplay goals.

Going to have to try it out and see how it compares to #Daggerheart for more storytelling cinematic games.

Anyone familiar with #Grimwild RPG? I never heard of it before. Looks like it is "what if D&D 5e, but we use a very simple d6 pool mechanic and focus on narrative only?".

So far, a very pleasing #TTRPG system, clearly inspired by #PbtA #FateSystem and #CortexPrime. #Grimwild

One of the exciting things about Grimwild is the abstraction of inventory and how liberating that can be creatively.

The Thieves’ Cant is a nice secret signs language. It doesn’t always need to be wizards or druids that can read secret messages.

I like the creativity of the Arcana recharging by laughter of a child.
