“Whatever you want from a poem, on first read, I found myself just thinking about that line, this idea of recklessness in the context of one's own life. And I wasn't even really thinking about climate change when I first read the poem. I was just thinking about this question of how we spend our […]
We've spent years helping people implement #GTD.
The most common thing we hear isn't "I don't understand it."
It's "I understand it perfectly. I just can't keep it running."
That gap, between knowing and doing, is exactly what #FacileThings is designed to close.
#BuildInPublic
oh yeah I wrote https://nycki.net/papermod/ that's right
I should do a writeup on that, I have so many projects left to document...

Early testers & ideas wanted for this #FOSS #Markdown #PKMS tool, with #GTD & #PARA to come in time.
To some, procrastination is caused by people who don’t want to tackle a project. But according to David Allen, the author of GTD/Getting Things Done, it can also be a sign of perfectionism.

Practicing #GTD with an unsuitable tool adds cognitive load. Using one you're not convinced by adds friction. The choice of framework matters more than you think.
"The Tool Does Matter"

The obvious problem with #GTD: it feels overwhelming to set up.
After each failed attempt, you quietly wonder if you're just not the kind of person who can "get organized."
You are. You just need the right tool. 😉

There's a specific kind of professional #FacileThings is built for:
Someone who discovered #GTD, believed in it, tried it... and couldn't make it last.
Not because they lacked commitment. Because the tools got in the way.
"Mind like water."
That's the #GTD promise. A state where you're fully present, not mentally juggling, not anxious about what you might be forgetting.
Most people who want this never get it. Not because GTD is wrong. Because implementing it is harder than understanding it.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA

Many people think digital tools are the only way to master GTD. But what if a simple paper system could make you more productive than any app? Today, I’ll show you how I did it.

We've just finished the Engage option.
This is where you choose your next task, based on your current context, available time, and energy level. Applying these filters narrows down your Next Actions list to a few tasks, making it easy to choose the most relevant one.
#buildinpublic #GTD
When I started practising #GTD I didn't realize that I would come to know focusing on a task itself as rewarding and even addictive. I notice more and more, when I feel scattered, an abstract longing for doing something I can focus on.
2/5
Active tasks? Sync everything. Inbox, Next Actions, Waiting For, Someday/Maybe... you need all of that available at all times.
That's the whole point of #GTD: a complete, trusted system you can rely on.
"I want to be someone who gets things done" isn't about doing more.
It's about moving from perpetually overwhelmed and reactive, to competent, organized, and in control.
That shift only comes with the right infrastructure.

Most people try GTD, pick the parts they like, and wonder why it doesn't work.
Capture. Clarify. Organize. Review. Engage. Each step is essential.
You can't skip the Weekly Review and expect peace of mind.
You can't skip Clarify and expect your lists to make sense.

Finished another weekly review! So glad to be back into the routine.. really helps me keep track of all of my projects (a project is just anything that requires more than a couple steps to complete). #gtd
I tested an idea with our own families: zero device time until it's earned. A few months later, the screen time conversations and concerns just ended. Read more about it here:

If you use a paper-based productivity system that’s based on GTD/ Getting Things Done, what is the best way to keep and process your notes?

The four emotional types.
1. The Analytical: Precision!
2. The Driver: Results!
3. The Amiable: Harmony!
4. The Expressive: Innovation!
Robin Hills is a solid, calm explainer of how to apply these four types in the real world. He's on Udemy but may be cheaper elsewhere […]

Wohoo! Another weekly review completed. #gtd
The Someday/Maybe list in #GTD is a blessing and a curse.
Items land there when you can't decide what to do with them. But without a way to easily re-clarify them, they just… accumulate.
The fix isn't a reminder. It's reducing the friction to make the decision when you're ready.
if you have task paralysis then i highly recommend the book _Getting Things Done (Second Edition)_ by David Allen, its an easy read and the advice is adhd friendly. he explains how to actually use the funny office supplies like "inbox tray" and "file cabinet" but he also honestly believes that […]

The decision tree of the #GTD clarifying stage in #FacileThings now runs both in the full inbox-processing flow and scoped to a single item. Same logic, different access points. Solid execution. Zero duplication.
Grapevine trunk disease is a very real global threat to #viticulture, present in virtually every #wine region and estimated to cost the industry more than $1 billion each year. About time I looked into it! 🍇
