Photo of the insides of two Fender Mustang style pickups. No covers. They are oblong shaped, with the magnetic pole pieces flush with the top. Two wires are attached to the bottom at the middle for signal output. Pretty much 1950’s or 60’s vintage technology. They are made with vulcanized paper bobbin flange flatwork, round ALNICO V magnets, 22 gauge cloth insulation output wire, 42 gauge magnet coil wire, etc…
I decided that I really don’t dig the mini-humbucker sound that much, but do like the SSH setup. So for my small body custom shaped small body guitar I wound these Mustang style neck and middle pickups. They’re not potted yet…
