This week’s #haikuforhumpday celebrates #ladiadadesantjordi.

The day celebrating the patron saint of Catalyuna.

Here, I’m at Barcelona’s Parc Guell in October 2016. The sunshine peeks through the clouds.

This was created by Antoni Gaudi to be luxury housing. But only two homes were built.

This week’s #haikuforhumpday.

With a nod to David Gilmour’s “On An Island”, my mind drifted back to Santorini.

A moment of temporary bliss.

Looking out the door of my villa. The sun rising over the sea. Not another soul around at 6 AM.

I found another happy place. I didn’t want to leave.

I had just posted last week’s #haikuforhumpday.

Then I came across a post from fellow Gather poet Mary Geschwindt.

With a nod to a certain email that’s been going around a list of what I did last week.

It wasn’t efficient or being hardcore. I was just trying to find joy in the small moments.

This week’s #haikuforhumpday.

With a nod to Tame Impala’s song “On Track” from their 2020 album, “The Slow Rush”.

The sense of optimism laced with melancholy could be found in every word that front man Kevin Parker sings.

I often wonder if strictly speaking, I’m still on track.

This week’s #haikuforhumpday.

Thinking back to last October’s trip to Croatia.

As our guide, Nikoleta gave all thirty eight of us, a licitar.

The ceramic hearts are a symbol of the the capital city, Zagreb.

The ornaments are used as tokens of affection.

Thinking of Croatia and her.

This week’s #haikuforhumpday was obvious.

As Zaeger and Evans’ song “In The Year 2525” has been stuck in my head since New Year’s Day.

Hopefully the distant future won’t be nearly as grim as the rest of the song’s lyrics depict.

In the year 2525. If man is still alive, they may find…

There's room for more in between
The four phases of living life
Birth, school, work, death

This is my #haikuforhumpday.

With a nod to the title track of the 1985 album from the band, The Godfathers.

It’s not hard to think about the four phases of life. Life rarely goes in a straight line.
