In 1928, the Haymills company began constructing houses along Shirehall Lane near to the River Brent. The company was a prominent developer responsible for building multiple estates throughout the local area.

The view is from Vivian Avenue. The roundabout or circus (the site was originally called that), was taken away in the mid 1960s, traffic lights added, and a pedestrian underpass put in.
