Ginny dove under the incoming waves as Hermione screeched above the water. Her next scream was drowned as Ginny pulled her under. Hermione only thrashed for a moment before Ginny locked their lips together. Small breaths of air slipped between them and Hermione relaxed in Ginny’s arms.

Ginny snuck out of the Burrow the same way she always did. The anticipation of seeing Hermione this time was different than any other time.

They snuck out in the late summer heatwave, both desperate to escape the noise and crowd of the Burrow. School would start soon enough and the quiet of the surrounding areas was a welcome respite after an entire summer of her mother breathing down her neck about this and that.
