Today marks the 200th birthday of Heinrich #Schliemann - selfmade-archaeologist & excavator of #Hisarlik Tepe (today Turkey), where he assumed to have located the city of #Troy from Homer's "Iliad" (and unearthed a whole sequence of settlements from 5th mill. BC to 5th ct. AD).
