Blue cross on ochre background and white cross on red background from yesterday. Bases are 50x25mm ovals which I prefer to pull bases for my historicals.

Got the other three cavalry finished off. I also managed to sort out 12 mail clad infantry with spears but it’ll be a while till they get done.

Here’s a rear view of the figure (isn’t it nice he turned around so we could see a different angle 😁). The saddle cloth is painted green with a three spot motif in cream. His armour lacing is predominantly blue and he’s based on an oval 25mm x 50mm base

Finally got some hobby time in last night and finished off the samurai cavalryman 😊

Progress on the foamcore tower and attached walls. The roof plates have gone on the tallest tower, crenellations are on the shorter tower and the front base has been shaped. Our handgunner is casting a weary eye over the walls.

Rear view showing the paving slabs that have been glued on the ground and parapets walls. There’s also some on the tower ‘roof’. Our handgunner is bored and has gone to look for his friends.

Laid the paving, filled the bits that needed filling and glued some details on.

The roof is wonky. Not intentionally 🙄😂

I’ll put a couple of oriel windows on when the texture is done.

Perry Miniatures mounted samurai undercoated dark brown. The horse has been painted light brown, the harness in read and the saddlecloth in green with a cream, three dot pattern on it.

Hobby half hour time and I’ve started on a mounted Honda samurai. I plan on doing eight or so that will look regimented and then another eight or so that are more individual.

Horse and harness/tack/saddle cloth done.

A resin cargo skiff split into two with the right hand one having the drivers cab. Painted dull imperial grey with a dull imperial grey officer in between them. Lots of weathering, chipping and rust as these boys have seen a lot of action.

More hobby today. Quite a simple one really. Primed grey, ink wash then some weathering. Quick blast of varnish, painted driver cab canopy and job done 😊

Two dark grey sci-fi cargo containers sat next to each other on a temperate styled base. There’s a rebel trooper in front painted in a camo scheme but just what has been up to 🤔

Didn’t get any hobby time yesterday but managed a bit today. Around 40 mins, not including drying time.

Here we have a Perry Miniatures ashigaru standard bearer holding an uma-jiroshi which looks like… Well, it’s difficult to explain lol. The best I can manage is that it looks like a knackered umbrella with long black and white ribbons coming off it 🤔 The figure himself is painted in dark, muted colours and has a rice ‘belt’ coming from his shoulders (where rice is stored for meals on the march).

Well, he took less finishing than I thought 😂

Just needed to do the lacing, skin, banner pole, scabbards, base and that was it!

Maybe samurai cavalry next although I’ve got so much unpainted tat it could be anything 😂

Two Games Workshop Empire pistoliers painted for Nordland. The one on the left has a bare head and is holding two pistols. The one on the right has a fancy hat and is holding a sword and a pistol. Same base figure but both converted (left has a head swap, right has a head and right hand swap).

Eight Games Workshop Empire pistoliers painted for Nordland with a standard and hero in the middle. They’ve all been converted in some way, mainly just head swaps but also the occasional arm.

Got up earlier than normal to finish off the pistoliers 😬

Horse, heads, bases and some details here and there. Varnished them asap (6:30 😂) and took the photo a few mins ago.

Yet another crappy photo but more has been done on the two Empire pistoliers. They are based in 25 x 50mm ovals and are mounted on custom painting stands. The left horse is painted, the right horse is yet to be done.

Woohoo, got another 30mins or so done earlier 😊

Painted the harnesses, trousers (that you can hardly see) bits and metal work, fixed the broken tail and textured the bases.

Might be done tomorrow although I don’t really like painting horses lol

Bad photo of two Games Workshop Empire pistolier figures mounted on horses. They have oval bases (25mm x 50mm) and have been primed very dark brown and the painting has started. The figures are glued to home made paint stands to help hold them whilst painting.

Got a bit of hobby time in this evening but limited it to around 30mins. Will try and do it everyday and keep it at 30-60mins.

Empire Pistoliers that have been sitting around for a while. Got the boots and pistols done and harness basecoated.
