Image 1 is a cartoonish but dark album cover for Hugo Kant’s fourth album “Far From Home”. The artwork depicts a pre-adolescent boy straddling one of only three visible limbs of a giant tree that rises above the canopy of the forest. A large body of still water is in the distance with two suns, one on the horizon, the other higher in the dark blue sky. The boy, wearing just shorts and a t shirt appears to have taken other items off, draping a sweater with elbow patches over a small limb while a scuba tank is further down the tree and an old globe-shaped diver’s helmet is on the limb in front of where he sits watching the suns.
Image two does not include an image and is the same flat blue used for the sky in image 1. The album name and track list are displayed.
Warbling bass, trip hop beats, downtempo electronics, and God help me, lots of flute. It’s an odd but perfectly balanced French album released on Bellring Records.
