#movieandtvchallenge A Movie Inspired From A Book: #fearandloathinginlasvegas I've actually read the book many years ago & the movie follows the book very closely, but of course there are some minor changes. The biggest change is the ending, the book's ending was pretty anti climatic so it's pretty understandable why the ending in the movie is different. Not too different, but still... I've heard many earlier plans in adapting this book & there are two plans that really got my interest & I still wonder how those two would have looked like; 1. There's one where they planned to cast Jack Nicholson as Raoul Duke & Marlon Brando as Dr. Gonzo, but then they both got to old for the roles. 2. Director Ralph Bakshi, who made Fritz the Cat & animated version of Lord of the Rings, actually wanted to make an animated movie version of the book & wanted to animate Ralph Steadman's illustrations from the book as well. It never happend because he couldn't get the rights.
