Fairly exciting weather today, hurricane force winds + blizzard. The neighbours* have been on the radio offering an Antarctic film festival this evening if we can get out the door..
* Finland. The Finnish station Aboa is about a hundred metres away on the same nunatak as Wasa

Back at base after a successful remote field visit. Lots of data to work on in the coming days now (which is lucky as the weather looks like it will be terrible).

Snow scooter training today and yesterday at #Abisko - mandatory for people in Sweden working on scooters. Delighted to pass. It's been a long time.
Sadly, I won't get an actual licence card (probably) but the pass is sufficient for #iQ2300 fieldwork in Antarctica

It's been a wonderful, hectic, joyous Christmas with the family, and although it's been quite hard work, I keep thinking that I should treasure it because (with a bit of luck), next Christmas will be in Antarctica...
