It's probably the only technical drawing of a 1980 dry cleaning shop you will see today! #iciarchives
Vera strikes again! Advice column from 1928 for the modern woman #iciarchives
You never know what will appear in our #iciwestonpointstudios photographic negatives. This charming photo of a room in a Swedish designed #lundbydollshouse from 1980. The photo was taken due to the #vivelle (fabric) being manufactured by ICI #iciarchives #dollshouses
The trouble they went to for a First Aid Comp - look at the detail of the car!
In 1982 you can be sure an ICI First Aider could take the right steps if you came off your motorbike #iciwestonpointstudios #photographicarchives #iciarchives #winningtonworks
Just one small box ... of many #iciarchives #westonpointstudios
Dulcine - where's she now, eh! Dulcine was shown to have 200 times the sweetening power of sugar made with phosgene amongst other ingredients! Funny to think that the research into this was nearly 100 years ago. ICI with their fingers in every [apple] pie :) #iciarchives #unitedalkalico
Our recently acquired photographic archive is feeding my obsession with pre-computer era plant models. This one 1981 - no idea what it is as yet.
Never mind your lego - you could sell these as a kit. We'd have played with this for hours! #stillwould #plantmodels #iciarchives
Always enjoy a hand-drawn diagram! Calcium Chloride Dryers - Brine Circulation - what's not to like. Photo is from our Weston Point collection in 1981 #westonpointstudios #iciarchives
A few from our recently acquired negatives - @woolworthsuk in St Annes. A bargain 89p in 1990! Photos were taken as the display case is Perspex - good old ICI.

Love seeing the detail in the background of a photo. This is on the wall in a plant control room in 1981 - I now want the original :) #iciarchives #rocksavage #cm2plant
Thought to be among the best position to pin a commemorative medal in 1981. The modest jacket version appeared in the article in the end. Our recently rescued negatives are truly the gift that keeps on giving #iciarchives #solvaymedal #itwasntonpagethree
Look at this beauty! - ICI brass safety padlock with red inlay, no 1899. When working on a part of the plant that had been isolated, you would lock your own padlock to the switch - only when the last padlock was removed would you know it was safe to restart. Simple but effective #iciarchives
From our collection - two undated photographs of the engine room at Castner Kellner. Look how clean it all is. I don't know who the chaps are in the photos but I definitely like the style of the one on the stairs! #iciarchives #castnerkellner #runcorn #unitedalkali
The detail on this undated aerial photograph of Buxton Town Centre looks like a model (it isn't!). Just one of the many super aerials in our collection! #iciarchives #buxton
It's the stuff within the stuff that's often the most pleasing! Charming letter from department store Browns of Chester in 1928 (lurking in a report) asking Widnes Lab if they have anything for getting tea and fruit stains out of tablecloths! Love it. #brownsofchester #widneslab #iciarchives
I'll give it a miss until the better weather, thanks! A few shots of the ICI Swimming Gala at Marbury Pool in Northwich 1970. It still exists - but you need to be hardy if you're venturing in :) #marburyswimmingpool #marburypool #northwich #iciswimminggala #iciarchives
If you fancy making an exact copy of the ICI Roundel (the older one) then look no further! Found lurking in a file from Pilks about rail transport livery. We've only had it since 1993. This is the power of digitisation! #iciarchives
#icibraveryawards Love the human stories in our archives #iciarchives
Look at the lovely detail on this glass trophy. Made by ICI glass blowers on the occasion of Weston Point Studios one year of trading in 1993. #iciarchives #glassblowers
The best photo you will see today! What a joy this lovely photo is of the female canteen workers at Brunner Mond Lostock Works. Thought to be around 1910, this image is taken from a 6 x 8 glass plate and is as clear as day! #brunnermond #lostockworks #womenworkers #iciarchives
A few 1960s photos of Congleton Outdoor Swimming Pool which were taken to illustrate the ICI paint product Alloprene. To be fair we're more interested in the candid scenes than the paint! #congletonlido #congleton #alloprene #iciarchives
A very pleasing deposit of a photo album which had been in a cupboard on the works at Runcorn for at least 40 years that the guy knew of! Nice pic of a diver repairing a pipe under the River Weaver and a few other snaps! #riverweaver #iciarchives
How enjoyable is an unsorted bag of photos! Occasional ones are even named! Here is the Pilkington Sullivan Ladies Cricket Team of 1953 to be going on with #pilkingtonsullivan #ladiescricket #iciarchives
As this lovely original cartoon takes its place in Drawer 5 of the museum store - we'll just have a reminder of how important it is to save all these bits and bobs! The framed cartoon is in the photo. Soda Crystals centenary, ICI Winnington Works 1976 #iciarchives #sodacrystals #winningtonworks
It's not all glamour at the museum you know. Eventually there will be enough rusty staples and pins that we can weigh them in and have jolly time! This most interesting donation of papers re Brunner Mond / ICI China in the 1930s and 40s had more than its fair share! #iciarchives #brunnermond
The Millionaire! This solid brass calculator made by H M Egli in Switzerland could perform multiplication of any number with 1 turn of the crank. This model was donated to Catalyst in 1983 by Dr Charles Suckling who was then working at ICI Millbank, originally used at Winnington Works #iciarchives
4 x stills from a lovely colour film of Randle Works from around the 1950s. We can't wait for our collection of films to be fully digitised! #iciarchives
Printed engraving of Halton Castle produced by John Strutt, c1838 held by Norton Priory Museum & Garden. Here also is its pleasing reproduction on the front of the ICI General Chemicals Magazine in 1959 #nortonpriory #iciarchives
Nice front page article from the Liverpool Daily Post of Nov 1945. The demand for lighter flints (previously German made) meant that Pilkington Sullivan had to switch to production with their highly secret process! #liverpooldailypost #pilkingtonsullivan #iciarchives
Lovely photo of the Ladies of ICI Winnington Research Dept staff Christmas Party 1934 - Misses B Trampleasure, A Buckley, N Goodier, M Thomas, E Baldwin, Seymour, Smith. Eva Penny, E Shaw, O Kettle, Ida McGorty and Jessie Pye #iciarchives #winningtonresearch #staffxmasparty
