Seen this argument over the years for Uber, then Uber Eats services.

As someone with an actual, albeit temporary disability this year ( #Ilizarov woo) I’ve used these services a lot. I would still vastly prefer to live in a world with regularly paid workers plus govt subsidies to disabled people!

Pin site infection again and my (generally excellent) GP wants me to go in for a swab. Having an infection where a metal wire runs through your leg is really astonishingly painful to walk around on, so I’m not keen to leave the house but oh well

Had my frame “dynamised” (i.e. “loosened”) - if all goes well, I will be frame free in 14 days.

Got out for a walk in the Peak the other day. I only needed a cane, as the path was forgiving even with the frame and limited mobility, and I took plenty of breaks for photographs.

Currently able to drive my car (automatic, RHD, my left leg is in the frame) and even though the experience isn’t very comfortable - it’s a small hatchback - the freedom of not having to rely on Ubers or friends-n-family is… actually exhilarating lol #Ilizarov
