Went to see the #InSeries production of Alessandro Stradella’s (1676) Saint John the Baptist last night. A different story, Beautiful music, and Magnificent singing.
Playing in DC tomorrow afternoon, and then in B-more next weekend.

#InSeries is making Opera accessible to younger generations than mine, through risk taking, and some imaginative takes on the standards. It also explores lesser known music pieces, such as ‘The Cradle Will Rock,’ directed by Orson Wells under auspices of the 1930’s WPA but shutdown before 1st show.
By the way. A review of an alas passed show. #InSeries production of Rigoletto. Placed in the context of circus, as opposed to the Court of Mantua, InSeries, with limited representation resources and personnel, made this Rigoletto with all the emotion that I have never experienced In ‘warhorses.’
