This tool should take approximately 10 to 20 minutes to complete. It depends on how much of an earful you want to give the Department of Education. We encourage you to take the time to write more, but you don’t have to.

The Department of Education may not fulfill our appeals —but power concedes nothing without a demand. By sending in our letters together, we are reminding the Department of Education that we know they know they have the power to cancel our student debt—and we are pushing them to use it. Filing this appeal to the Department of Education will not harm you, nor will it negatively impact other relief channels you may be seeking, such as PSLF, borrower defense, false certification, closed school, total/permanent disability discharges, or alternate repayment programs like income-driven repayment. In other words, you have nothing to lose by filling out this form, except possibly your immoral and illegitimate student loans.

*This petition is only for federal student loans. You can check if your debts are private or federal by logging into Federal Student Aid to see if they’re listed there.
