Wie geil Indie Game Music doch ist
#gamescom #iab #indiearenabooth #vgm #gamedev
As they say, "better late than never" - and since I also posted my #Gamescom indie short reviews belatedly this year, I'm now sharing my very belated Gamescom rรฉsumรฉ (or rather the account of my little odyssey with #IndieArenaBooth Steam demos).
#Tumblr: ideas-on-paper.tumblr.com/post/7936907...
The Steam banner of TANUKI: Pon's Summer. On the left, you can see a cheerful tanuki in comic style on a red BMX bike; his bike is loaded with letters and packages, some of which go flying. In the background, you can see a shrine in a green grove, surrounded by a town with Japanese-style houses. The title is on the right.
The Steam banner of Dispatch. You can see a men's restroom, with several men standing at urinals on the left side (from right to left: a tall, bulky man with reddish skin and no shirt; a young, brown-haired man with a blue shirt; a tall, blond man with a blue superhero cape). On the right side, one of the bathroom stalls is occupied, with a yellow superhero cape with a blue star hanging from the door. The cape forms the A of the title spread across the stalls.
The Steam banner of Compensation Not Guaranteed. You can see the interior of an office in watercolor-esque style; in the office are an anthropomorphic rooster (on the left) and an anthropomorphic tiger (in the center). The title is at the top center.
The Steam banner of Strange Antiquities. You can see a cat with differently colored eyes (yellow and blue) lying on a wooden counter; to the cat's left and right are candles. In addition, there is a counter bell on the right side of the counter. In the background, there are shelves with various artifacts; one of the artifacts - a black and yellow patterned skull surrounded by yellow petal ornaments - is highlighted by a large magnifying glass on the left. To the right of the magnifying glass, in the top center of the image, is the title.
#Gamescom Recap Part 5: Sims and story games
And now for the final installment of my #IndieArenaBooth highlight series! As my last few #Steam demo highlights, we've got:
- TANUKI: Pon's Summer
- Dispatch
- Compensation Not Guaranteed
- Strange Antiquities

The Steam banner of Hirogami. On the right, you can see a humanoid origami figure stirring up wind with a fan. On the figure's head are extensions that resemble ears; the body is made of red and blue paper, and a sort of "coat" made of white paper. To the left of the figure is the title (below the Latin letters is the title written in Japanese hiragana characters).
The Steam banner of Swan Song. You can see an open music box with an inserted winding key on the right. Inside are miniature figures of a swan and a hunter, as well as several small platforms. A drawer at the bottom of the music box is opened; inside are staves with musical notes. More notes, gears, and small plates/platforms are scattered around the music box. The title is on the right.
The Steam banner of Gloomy Eyes. On the left, you can see a zombie boy with glowing yellow eyes and blue hair as well as a girl with two blonde pigtails and a yellow jacket; both are standing on a cliff, their heads turned right and looking into the distance. In the background, you can see graves and a gnarled, leafless tree, with the dark night sky as a backdrop. On the right is the title.
The Steam banner of Greta Sees Ghosts! You can see a beach in comic style, with beach chairs to the left in the background; various animal and human tracks are visible in the sand. To the right stands a woman with short red hair, wearing a yellow rain jacket and holding a lantern; on the lantern shining blue-violet is a face looking at her. The title is on the left.
#Gamescom Recap Part 4: Platformers and puzzle games
Round 4 of my #IndieArenaBooth highlights, featuring yet more games with really cool #Steam demos!
The chosen ones this time are:
- Hirogami
- Swan Song
- Gloomy Eyes
- Greta Sees Ghosts!

The Steam banner of Forge of the Fae. On the left is a steampunk town; on the right is a tree with an engraved stone embedded with a gemstone at its base; the background on the right side is made up of idyllic forest scenery. In the center are several characters from the game, drawn in anime style. Below the characters is the title.
The Steam banner of Glaciered. It's an underwater scene of a mosasaurus (at the bottom left) and a giant shark (at the top right), charging with open maws at a bird-like creature on the right side of the screen. The title is in the center.
The Steam banner of Spindle. In the center of the cartoon-style picture is a grim reaper with a black hood, brandishing a blue-glowing scythe; to their right is a pig, in defensive stance with a determined expression. In the background, you can see a cemetery at night, with a full moon in the sky; black shadow tentacles extend from the edges of the image toward the center. The title is at the bottom center.
The Steam banner of Nocturne. It shows a youth in a purple jacket standing on a cliff overgrown with grass, overlooking a vast mountainous landscape. In the background, you can see a large yellow ring in the sky, positioned as if it were the sun; the pale lilac sky and pastel clouds framing the ring at its bottom create a picturesque scene. The title is located in the bottom left half of the picture.
#Gamescom Recap Part 3: RPGs, action games and adventures
And here's the next installment of my #IndieArenaBooth highlight series, featuring more games I really enjoyed the #Steam demos of:

Letโs take a moment to relive how amazing Indie Arena Booth 2025 was โจ #gamescom #indiegame #indiedev #indiearenabooth
๐ธ by Rolf Otzipka ๐
Most of the time I spend at the #IndieArenaBooth in Hall 10.2 thanks to Square Glade Games!
They invited me to help out at their Outbound booth and it was a blast! ๐คฏ
Talking to people about Outbound and hearing all the wonderful and positive feedback was really amazing!
Huge congrats to GOODBYE SEOUL โ crowned Best Game at Indie Arena Booth. Details + why it stood out:

The Steam banner of Kill The Shadow. In the dark background, you can see a city at night, featuring cranes and industrial buildings from which plumes of smoke rise on the right. In the center of the starry sky is what looks like a blood-red moon, with ravens circling in front of it. Two more ravens sit in the foreground on the branches of a tree; to their left is the title.
The Steam banner of Drฤculeศti. On the left is protagonist Roger M. Renfield; he has two dot-shaped, bleeding wounds on his neck, and his chin is held by the hand of Dracula (with long, claw-like nails), who is standing behind him. Surrounding him are more red hands (also with claw-like nails) that appear to be reaching for Renfield. At the bottom right, next to Renfield, is the title.
The Steam banner of A Pretty Broken Adventure. The three protagonists, Lani, Collin, and Tiho, are standing on the left; behind them at the left edge of the image is an old-fashioned television, and in front of them on the floor is a game controller. In addition, there are a dog wearing a crown and a UFO in the background to the left; in the background to the right is a tall tower. In the front center, a golden locket is lying on the floor, with a pair of eyes and a beak peeking out of it. Above the locket is the title, which takes up the entire right half of the picture.
The Steam banner of Psychotic Bathtub. It shows a person with long, black strands of hair bathing in strawberry-red water; they are submerged in the water save for the upper half of their face and their knees. A rubber duck floats in front of the person's face, seemingly looking at them; the title is to the left of the bathing person.
#Gamescom Recap Part 2: Detective, Visual Novels and Point & Click
And here's some more games from #IndieArenaBooth I played #Steam demos of that I really enjoyed, this time featuring:

The Steam banner of DarkSwitch. On the right, you can see a giant tree with purple crystals protruding from its bark; a steampunk airship is headed towards the tree. To the left, where the orange twilight sky fades into a black mist, is the title.
The Steam banner of News Tower. To the left in the foreground, you can see a newspaper salesman and a female photographer, drawn in a stylized art style; both are wearing 1930s clothing. In the background, you can see New York City, with a tall, red brick building on the right side standing out among the others; above the same building is the title.
The Steam banner of Star Birds. To the left in the background, you can see a comic-style asteroid a rocket is launching from; on the surface are various sci-fi facilities. To the right in the foreground, you can see two birds in spacesuits, the title being located above their heads.
The Steam banner of Iter-8. You can see several black, floating monoliths rising into the sky, which is split into two halves of orange and black. In the center foreground is a row of figures in spacesuits. Above them, a round drillship is seen digging through a monolith. The title is at the top center.
