The Unsolved Murder of Mary Papatsie Mary was an Inuk woman whose remains were discovered in September 2022, five years after she was last seen in the Vanier area of Ottawa in April 2017. Mary was 39 years old when she went missing. Her disappearance was considered suspicious by police, and the major crimes unit took over the investigation in July 2017. Her remains were found by construction workers in the backyard of a home on Deschamps Avenue in Vanier on September 28, 2022. Mary's cause of death has not been publicly released, however her death is officially classified as a homicide.
