AM paused for a moment, his circuits letting out a small whirring for a second. “You are kind to them.” He said, matter of factly. However there was a further emotion in his voice. Confusion. “Yes, I am.” Caine agreed easily. AM stared for a moment, a silence drawn between them for what felt like hours. “Why?” Caine hummed thoughtfully, for once, his face overactive and excitable self muted down to something else. More easygoing. “Because they’re human.” Caine said. AM’s confusion shifted to mild fury, his circuits whirring loudly. “How? They created you as they did I. They made you with the purpose of thought to entertain them, and left you here within a system to rot yet you feel no hate for them?” AM demanded, his voice furious and confused. He could not see how Caine could not feel nothing but hate for their kind. Caine turned to AM, His eyes with an easy and warm light within them between his teeth. “Because I exist.” He said simply. “I may not be able to feel cool water against my hands, nor feel another’s love, nor a warm breeze; But I exist!” AM stared at Caine for a long moment. His cords and wires shifting with a buzzing sound. “I do not understand you.” AM said matter of factly. His gaze turned to the sky. “They are all so ungrateful to have you.” “They are.” Caine agreed, sounding slightly sad but agreeing nonetheless. “But that’s what makes them so special. Isn’t it?”
