The sun gods Awoke angrily, Their hot tempers Burning brightly, As Helios drove His golden chariot Over the horizon, Dragging the sunrise With fury. Huitzilopochtli Shook his feathered crown And held his serpent scepter High in the blazing sky, His painted face, Twisted in rage, As the temperature climbed. Ra stood motionless, His falcon eyes, Fixed and dark, Willing the sun's ill-temper To smolder In the cloudless blue sky. Sunrise erupted In a blaze of light And invisible flame - The gods were Displeased. August 24, 2025
