Using 5 pounds of apples per cake; sort of like stacked apples in a cake/ bread pudding mixture. Old, old family recipe that is still a winner.

I made a Jewish Apple Cake! Non-Kosher, though. I used butter instead of vegetable oil. It was pretty darn fantastic.
