Jiangxisuchus nankangensis compared in size to Steve Irwin. It has four short legs and a long tail and measures around 1.4 to 1.5 meter in length. A map shows were the fossil was found in south eastern china and text gives information to the origins (Nanxiong/Hekou Formation, which corresponds to the Maastrichtian) and its phylogeny (Orientalosuchina, possibly within Alligatoroidea)
A skull reconstruction of Jiangxisuchus. It had large eyes and a medium-broad rounded snout. Overall the skull appears broadly triangular. Small bones are located above the eyesockets.
Another orientalosuchin pretty much done. Last time I had Dongnanosuchus, this time its Jiangxisuchus from the Cretaceous fo China. The stratigraphy has been kind of a headache ngl but the skull, ignoring some crushing, was wonderfully complete.
