When I was thirteen, Brak ruled my world. Fun and silly, a Conan-knock-off, the books still hold a warm place in my heart. John Jakes was also a quite successful author of historical fiction. I read his SF books, too. He churned 'em out. #swordandsorcery #booksky #fantasy #johnjakes

Going to start the third, and final, TV miniseries based on the Kent Family Chronicles by #JohnJakes called #TheSeekers tonight after we watch the latest #CaptainAmerica film with Sam Mackie as Cap & Harrison Ford as President Ross (oh, and the #RedHulk too!)
Just finished watching the 2nd 1970s TV mini-series based on the Bicentennial American story of the Kent Family by author #JohnJakes #TheRebels — remember most of the high points from seeing it back in 1979 when it first aired with Andrew Stevens & Don Johnson sharing the leads.
Two #NorthandSouths - the #ElizabethGaskell one portrays the divide between life in the north and south of England 6/10; #JohnJakes on the American Civil War I found superficial and gave up half way through 3/10
