Akihiro Takahashi was 14 years old when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. In addition to his art, he spent his life speaking out against weapons.

Japanese artist #TakahashiHiroaki (b.1871) is also known under the name #Shotei which he used later in his career. He received training in Nihonga, a traditional Japanese painting, under his uncle, Matsumoto Fuko. He is often referred to as Takahashi Shotei #junke in Institute Bay.
